My wife and I came Harrah's Lake Tahoe on a last minute trip the day after our 50th wedding anniversary. Our original plan didn't work out, so we decided to return here after a nine year absence. We had been visiting regularly since 1968 and had great memories. Bill Harrah would also be equally disappointed in how his 5 star hotel/casino resort was operating during our 4 night stay. When I began this, I thought it would be a typical check the box survey. Since I'm doing this on my phone, I will try to keep it brief from here. The casino was about the same and what I expected. The hotel room was clean and reasonably up to date. And, of course, the duel bathrooms are still an unusual and first class amenity. The people all seemed to be pleasant and tried to be helpful. TIP - if you haven't been there for awhile, stop first at the concierge if you want to accomplish anything. Unfortunately, I didn't do this until the last day when it was too late. She was excellent and would have been a great help. We got all our meals from room service because the whole communication system is a disaster. You can't get anywhere within the hotel (e.g., restaurants) without having to talk to someone in Las Vegas or somewhere else away from Tahoe. Even if you finally talk within the hotel, you get bad information. Nobody seemed to know when a restaurant was open or closed. The best information came to us from the excellent room service staff that we saw twice daily.Maybe El Dorado will be able to correct this "penny wise/dollar foolish" big organization culture when they take over.
